Alix originally comes from France where she first studied IP law at SciencesPo Paris Law School (Master Droit de l'Innovation, 2021-2023). She has an MLitt in Legal and Constitutional Studies from the University of St Andrews (2020-2021, Distinction) and she has recently completed an LL.M. in Intellectual Property Law at Edinburgh Law School (2023-2024).
During her studies, she developped a strong interest in Geographical Indications Law (GI). Her Masters' research projects notably focused on European GI Law: first in relation to the legal definition and protection of the GI "Scotch Whisky", and then more generally on the process of the drafting of GI specifications and the impact of the new EU GI regulations.
She is fascinated by the leveraging effect IP can have for start-ups and especially looks forward to developing a specialisation in the Food and Drinks sector as she trains to become a UK Chartered Trade Mark Attorney at Hindles.
